Biography

Zhizhou “Leo” Wang founded Shanze Partners PLLC in 2018 and has been managing the Seattle-based law firm since then.

Leo concentrates his practice in the areas of business structuring/planning, corporate and civil litigation, commercial real estate, and bankruptcy. He regularly appears before federal and state courts in Washington, California, New York, and other jurisdictions in litigation and bankruptcy cases. Advising and representing entrepreneurs, business owners, corporate officers, cross-border investors and traders, and debtors and creditors in bankruptcy and similar proceedings. Leo helps his clients navigate the intricacies of the legal landscape in the United States and consistently delivers favorable outcomes in and outside the court. He has extensive experience resolving corporate governance and business owner disputes, commercial tenancy disputes, cross-border investment disputes, and bankruptcy proceedings and receiverships. He has also served as outside general counsel to a number of foreign businesses that need a US presence or affiliate. Obtaining his first law degree from China, Leo frequently advises and represents clients in China-related business and litigation matters, and advocates for the US courts’ recognition of judicial proceedings, judgments, and arbitration awards from China.

Being an immigrant himself, Leo has made it his mission to provide unwavering support to members of underserved groups and communities, especially immigrants and minorities from Asia. Whether guiding entrepreneurs through the intricacies of corporate and business law in a foreign land or advocating for the rights of hard-working business owners seeking American dreams, Leo stands as a steadfast ally, offering not just legal representation but also a compassionate hand to hold through the journey.

Leo is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, King County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association (The Western District of Washington), and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is an active member of the King County Bar Association and holds leadership positions in the litigation section of KCBA. Leo has also proudly served as counsel to a number of Chinese-led nonprofit organizations in the greater Seattle area.

When he is away from the law, Leo can be found in the mountains with his family and friends, in the public libraries with his young kids, and in the badminton court with his coach and co-players.
